Important Usage Restrictions
ResponsiveVoice is a library that makes web voices provided by browsers and online service providers more easily accessible across devices. ResponsiveVoice can provide no guarantees or assurance that voices will be available in the future. This may mean a language or voice becomes unavailable on only a subset of platforms or unavailable on all platforms. If a voice becomes unavailable it will be removed from our list of supported voices.
ResponsiveVoice uses the Google Speech API online service for devices and browsers where native HTML5 speech synthesis is not available. Google Speech API content is controlled by the applicable Google privacy policies. Google may use submitted content for any purpose, including but not limited to, improvement of other products and services.
ResponsiveVoice Developer License works on a per-developer basis. Each engineer developing against the ResponsiveVoice API needs a single license. The license then gives you the freedom to use ResponsiveVoice to create an unlimited number of commercial applications, use the components on any computer or server you like and you’ll have access to the source code of ResponsiveVoice and its components with the freedom to modify it.
Under the Commercial License, you are not allowed to create applications that can be described as a development toolkit or library, an application builder, a website builder, or any application that is intended for use by software, application, or website developers or designers. If you are concerned about this prohibition, you can discuss getting a Custom Use license by contacting us.
Consultants and Software Integrators
Consultants and systems integrators that develop applications must ensure that the third parties for which they develop are licensed for the Software. In some cases, you can transfer your license to the third party, and in other cases third parties will need to have their own Commercial License. Consultants cannot use the same license to build applications for multiple customers, if the customers are to own the application.
