Until now, we have only been able to speculate about, what happens in ‘virtual reality education’. Many people who try a VR headset for the first time, say ‘this will be great for education’, but how do they know that? Of course it is instinctive and even obvious that an immersive VR environment is the learning place of the future, but the fact is, that until now there has been little evidence to support this theory.
Now a full controlled academic test has been carried out on a group of third year students using avatars, environments, text to speech, branching dialogues, decision trees, tracking, assessment and more in a Moodle test scenario. It shows how we made immersive eLearning work on phones, tablets, computers and VR headsets and what happened when a leading University implemented it.
This case study is groundbreaking, it has implications for the future of eLearning because it looks at what happens when you add the ‘next’ technology to the best and tested eLearning methods with a group of bright students.
