Using Google Poly Blocks in LearnBrite

Expand the variety of your spaces using 3D models from Google Poly. Using the OBJ 3D file type models can be downloaded from Google Poly. The models can then be exported in .obj and uploaded to the web for inclusion in your spaces.

Visit Google Poly and search for a model.

Unzip

At the moment the LearnBrite platform requires the .mtl file to have the same name and be in the same folder as the .obj. So here we rename materials.mtl to model.mtl

Upload the files to a web server

Edit your space to add a new custom item. Provide the full URL of the .obj you uploaded to your web server and it will appear in your space.

There is no standard for building objects so be aware of

  • Object size
  • Object origin
  • Filenames containing spaces and other special characters

In this case the object had to be scaled to 0.1 of its original size.

Enjoy!
